THE STORY OF
ROOTS AND WISDOM MUSIC

BOOK ROOTS AND WISDOM

The band ROOTS AND WISDOM was formed by Wisdom Ogbor, a Nigerian born musician
who has been travelling and playing music in North America, Mexico and Central America since
1996.
Using the knowledge of the music of his African roots, Wisdom has been able to compose
several catchy original songs in English, Spanish, Maya, and his native Nigerian languages of Ibo
and Yoruba. Roots And Wisdom music has therefore become defined by these songs, like
"RASTAS MAYAS", "TULUM",
"I AM NOT BOB MARLEY", "MERCY" and many others.
These songs are usually mixed in with other popular reggae and world music covers during a Roots
And Wisdom Music live concert performances. The band has played at several festivals and events
around the world, most notably in Mexico where they play every winter in the Yucatan peninsula.
